After a shortened week with Memorial Day and Chris trying to heal up from wadding himself at Oak Ford working. It was a few long nights in the garage and a Saturday trip to Hall's to get ready for the Sprint Enduro at White City. We finally made it down to the track and the weather was close to perfect. The Club had 2 test for us to run. The red test was about 6mi and the blue test was about 4.5mi. The red test was the more technical section with it being hilly and the blue test was open more with a few creeks to cross. The race started out with Mark on the red test on minute 5. He was in unfamiliar territory because he never runs in an early number. Chris was on the blue test for his 1st test on minute 22. Chris' 1 st test got him splashing his goggles and soaking his gloves with water. After a glove and goggle change he headed over to the red test. Chris miss judged a the trail and went over the bars hitting his knee. He then ran his other two times in that test running smoothe and constant. Mark's 1st test he made it through clean and had fun going down the hill climb. In his 2nd he ended up washing out the front end costing him time. Now for his 3rd time through, 3/4 of the way through his throttle stuck wide open sending him straight in to a tree messing up the bike and banging himself up. Chris came back to finish his last two test to find dad in street close and his knee badged up. Chris put in his final 2 test smoothly without any major mistakes to finish the day solid. At the end of the day Chris finished 13th and Mark finished 10th. We like to thank Jay Hall for all the work he did to Chris' bike to make sure it was ready for the race. On to the next race! Thank you Carissa D Photography, Jhi Jhi's Photography and Amy for the awesome pictures!

AMA Dist. 17 Enduro White City, IL
Double header at Fox Valley Off road
The double header at Fox valley started off with a change of plan. Mark ended up Friday midday driving down to meet up with Jarred to pick up Chris's WRX from Hall's cycles and to give Jarred his WR. After getting a late start we finally made it out to Fox valley for the 1st camping trip of the Year. The GP on Saturday was a fast flowing track and it was groomed prefect. Chris put in a solid 2 motos in the B race to take 6th for the day. In the Premondern class Chris was back on his freshly tuned 85 WRX 250 by Jay Hall from Hall's cycles. Chris took the 1st moto to get comfortable on the WRX. He was able to keep the 1st place rider in his sights to take 2nd for the day. Mark's day had him running his 250 for the 1st time for the year and had a blast running on it. He ended up taking 3rd in Premondern. Sunday was the Hare Scramble and we were told that the course was going to have more single track and more technical sections. They started the Morning race for Vintage and came to a bottleneck at the bottom of one of the hills. Both Chris and Mark had to work their way out of that to get back on track. Chris put in a smooth race to take the win and Mark ended up 2nd on the day and had a blast on the course the Ward family laid out. Chris’ B race started off with an awesome start 2 nd off the line. 3/4 into the 1st lap he ended up grabbing too much front brake going down on a downhill allowing the whole class to go by. He was able to mount a charge back to 9th. After a long few weeks and not being able to put in the work, not too bad. Overall we had a great time racing on a perfect course for 2 days and hanging out with great friends. I would like to give a shout out to Mark and Jarred for getting Chris the right vintage mount for the weekend. On to the next race!

AMA Dist.17 GP Coal Valley, IL
This weekend we went to Tri City for a GP. The morning started a bit delayed due to computer issues but that was resolved as quick as they could. This gave for a long day with the delay. On the practice, it became apparent that the course was not GP style. On one of the hills during the practice lap, there was a bottleneck, it was an area that should have had multiple lines for the riders to get around the bottleneck. Other than that it was a fun course. Both Chris and Mark raced in the Pre-Modern class. Chris finished the day with 2nd and Mark finished with 3rd. On to the next race!

AMA Dist.17 Hare Scrambles Cuba, IL
This weekend we went down to Cuba, Il for a Hare scrambles put on by Canton MC. This place has not been ridden in over 20 years. Shout out to Dave Edsall and crew, they did one heck of a job. The course was technical with off camber, hills and high-speed grass fields to break up the hilly sections. Mark’s race went off and he started mid pack. In lap 2 he caught up to a couple riders that went down on an off camber section which caused him to get stuck and costing him time. He wanted to give a special shoutout to a young lady that helped him get back on track. Mark got himself going to charge back and end the day in 6th place. Chris had a great start and was 3rd off the line. He got to the 1st field section, when he witnessed the 2nd place rider crash and knocked himself out. Chris stopped to make sure he was ok and helped him pick up his bike. Chris wasn’t able to push after watching that. He just maintained to get his points and finish the race. He finished the day in 14th. On to the next race!

AMA Dist.17 Enduro Roselawn, IN
A rough start to the weekend with a late night trip to my Uncle's house. A Special Thanks to Uncle Vern Scholl and Jay Hall for a late night collaboration & fixing Chris' broken starter. Uncle came to the rescue with a brand new starter that he just happens to have. Now Chris was ready to race the Sand Goblin Enduro in Roselawn Indiana. The race started with a 6 mile transfer to get to the start of test 1. Chris knowing he only had a 10 minute pause to start test 2, he had to run fast and smooth to make it. He ended hung up on a log, thanks to a slower rider that cost him some time. Chris made it to the start of test 2 a minute late and he knew that he had to charge through test 2 to make up lost time. He put a good ride in only to find out that they were not scoring that section and throwing it out. Onto test 3 after gas, Chris put in a consistent mistake free ride. Now onto test 4 which was the shortest and a 5 minute pause to start test 5 which was the longest at 11 miles. Chris rode as fast as he could to make it to test 5 on time and did with 3 minutes to spare. Then started the long 11 mile test, half way through Chris ended up hitting a tree head on. He got himself together and just maintained to finish the test. Ending the day with taking 3rd in 250B class. Shout out to the best Pit Crew for traveling and making to the tests. On to the next race! Thank You to our Sponsors, Hall's Cycles Sub-Trailer Hitch EVS Pro Grip Slick Products DeCal Works Twin Air and the Lord for keeping us safe!

AMA Dist. 17 Hare Scrambles Chandlerville, IL
To all that didn't come out to Midwest Motocross Club Inc. on Easter you missed one heck of a HS. 2 thumbs up to Flintlock E. Wilbury and crew, they did a great job. The weather was perfect and we had a fun Easter with our off-roading family. The conditions were very dry and dusty. The course which consisted of 2 water crossings, a constant growing mud hole, and various off camber hills. After 13 months in storage, Mark finally decided to pull out his '18 GasGas and raced it in his 1st +60 class. He kind of forgot how nice it was to ride a modern bike in a technical course. The course was a blast and he had fun. Not bad finishing 9th out of 12th after 13 months off from riding this bike. Chris' race started in a total dust storm. He couldn't see the 1st 2 turns and he was feeling his way through the dust. It took Chris a quarter of the race to get his groove. The last 3 laps he started picking off people to charge back to 12th out of 22 riders. Not bad from starting almost dead last. Again a Special thanks to Jay Hall at Hall's Cycles for helping Chris get his bike ready for the race. On to the next race! Thank You, Carissa D. Photography, Squatch Photography and Amy for the pics.
